How the Mind Works

You have probably heard before about the “law of attraction” and how you can manifest anything that you want if you truly want it. However, the science behind the law of attraction is not fully explained. First, you need to be able to understand how the mind works before you begin to practice manifestation. Once you are able to understand how the mind works, you can control it and once you control it, you can focus it. Because you can’t focus or concentrate on something you don’t understand. We often let ourselves drive by what the rest of the world is doing because we fear that we may miss something. The problem is that when we begin to do things without really understanding why we are doing it, then without realizing it we are driving our lives without purpose and meaning. Remember LIFE IS A MANIFESTATION OF WHERE YOU DIRECT YOUR ENERGY. Therefore, we do really need to be careful how we are spending our energy daily. We all have a limited amount of energy throughout the day and we have to be able to divide it wisely. I once heard a very powerful analogy, that we should look at energy the same way we look at money, it needs to be wisely managed, wisely re-allocated and wisely invested. But unfortunately, the majority of people spend an average of 12 hours a day, 7 days a week practicing distraction, then we wonder why we are so good at it. That’s the LAW OF PRACTICE. The Law of Practice is that we become good at whatever it is we are practicing, whether it’s positive or negative, it doesn’t matter. Therefore, if you practice something over and over again, you become really good at it, and that’s why people is so good at distraction.Then people say “technology are great distractors” right? The internet, the iPhone.. are they really distractors? Technology in itself is not a bad thing is a beautiful thing, as long as we are in charge of it. But if every time your iPhone makes a sound you turn to it and you go yes MASTER how can I serve you today, then you live in a world of distraction.
So.. How the mind works?
There are two things we need to understand: one it’s awareness and one it’s the mind. Imagine the awareness is a glowing ball of light, like an orbit, so now imagine your mind as a vast area with many different sections within, one area of the mind is anger, jealousy, food, sex, happiness, joy science, art, and this glowing light of awareness can travel within the mind and it can go to any area of the mind that it wants to go to and when it goes to a particular area it lights up that area of the mind, you become conscious of it. This is what happens all day everyday, we let people and things around us to take our awareness from one area to another all day long from the moment we wake up. Therefore, we become distracted. To be concentrated is to be able to keep your awareness one thing for an extended period of time.
What’s the best way to develop concentration?
The best way to develop concentration is to bring that practice to our everyday life. Look into an opportunity throughout your day. In your average day ask yourself, what’s a great opportunity to practice concentration? Every time you speak to a partner, or friend, keep that ball of light, that awareness on that person. If it drifts away bring it back, it drifts away, bring it back, the more you practice this, the more you become better at concentration. Give her/him your undivided attention. If you speak to someone in a day, practice concentration.
The benefits of concentration are endless, when you are able to concentrate you are able to focus all your energy into a single given point. If you are not able to concentrate your energy, the things you want to manifest in life becomes very, very challenging. It's important to learn to CONCENTRATE by doing one thing at a time, bring this practice into everything you throughout the day, make it a part of your life (as if you were going to the gym everyday). Practice, practice, keep bringing awareness back and keep it focus to one thing at the time.
Important to Remember..
The mind is difficult to control, even more that the wind, but not impossible. It will require effort and it will not happen automatically. If we would only put the same amount of effort we put in the material side for material gain, we would forever be free of the cycle of life and death. Because with practice and detachment we will gain success.
